There is huge potential for fashion houses in the Middle Eastern market as global brands are not only expanding in this region but powerhouses like DKNY are taking it one step further and targeting the demographic with collections that appeal to the audience here.

Being DKNY’s first regional campaign, their inaugural Ramadan collection was designed to create a striking colour palette & feminine silhouettes which featured conservative-yet-summer-appropriate pants, blouses, skirts and dresses in festive colors and eye-catching prints. The brand had partnered with two Middle Eastern fashion personalities , Yalda Golsharifi and Tamara Al Gabbani, who selected items from the summer collection to create suitable looks, while also infusing their own sophisticated sense of style to the campaign making it a lot more appealing to the women in Middle East. The duo were photographed in Dubai by Emirati photographer Saeed Al Khalifa.

According to the brand “The shoot captured the thematic quality and aesthetic vision of the collection with each image blending DKNY’s image and the region’s culture”. This is clearly evident as longer, modest silhouettes with gorgeously dusty hues combined with youthful cuts and style trends served as an ideal blend. I would have liked to see some embellishment and also belts in contrasting colours to further accentuate the jumpsuits, maxi dresses and tunics, however, playful yet modest layering of light & even sheer fabrics was definitely the highlight of the season’s collection. Available in stores now, DKNY was well timed with their launch as currently crowds are flocking to indulge in Ramadan & Pre-Eid shopping.

DKNY no doubt always creates classy pieces that are versatile and elegant. To quote a post by Angie, the author of You Look Fab, “classic style is hard to beat when well executed. It’s chic, flattering, elegant, strong, attractive, eye-catching and always in style”. So, to end off today’s post I thought to share with you 3 tips to creating a ‘Classy and Timeless Wardrobe’ … let’s get started, shall we?

1) Classy women look classy because they don’t overdo it, when styling themselves they always chose versatile pieces which can be easily layered. An example being, the timeless black dress which will always be in vogue and can be worn to multiple occassions. Overtime, opt for other colours as well but make sure it’s not too short and doesn’t show cleavage.

2) Your body language speaks to people about who you are and the key to looking classic and chic is staying poised, having a strong walk, keeping your chin up and moving effortlessly. To accentuate your poise always chose well tailored clothes and creatively mix colours, prints and different fabrics. Additionally, heels do an amazing job of complementing outfits and can truly highlight your natural graces.

3) Make accessories work for you! Whether they are sunglasses, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, belts, scarves or handbags find the ones that make a statement and can help dress up your wardrobe in many different ways. These keep your style interesting by adding color, texture, shape and embellishment to your outfits effortlessly.

Until we rendezvous again,
